Salute to 1Lt. Hoe
Not Forgotten
While at the 47th Combat Support Hospital (CSH), I happened to notice this wood plaque on the side of a trailer where patients awaiting airlift to another medical facility are temporarily housed.
I instantly recognized the name of 1Lt. Nainoa K. Hoe. I had covered the naming of an assault course in his honor for ROTC cadets this past summer.
It was wonderful to see that he has not been forgotten.
“He knew one of the nurses here,” a passing medic told me. “And she didn’t want us to forget him,” he added.
We won’t.
